A New World is one that stands in stark contrast to this current global paradigm we have, shaped by white supremacist, capitalism and racial terrorism. This New World is envisioned as a reality where Blackness is celebrated and centered, drawing inspiration from African philosophies such as Ubuntu (“I am because you are”) and the laws of Ma’at (balance, love, fairness, communion).

The Economic Foundation: Talent Banking

At the heart of this reimagined society is the concept of “talent banking.” This economic model proposes a shift from exploitation and extraction to recognizing and exchanging the unique gifts and talents of each individual. In this system, currency is defined by the value of each person’s divine gifts and talents, ensuring that everyone has something valuable to contribute to the collective. This approach aims to cultivate a society where no one is disposable, and everyone’s contributions are valued and necessary for the community’s success.

Building Lasting Institutions in the New World

Olori Lolade, founder of NOIR Lab, in this thought-provoking discourse emphasized that creating enduring institutions in this new paradigm requires clear articulation and regular reinforcement of values, vision, and mission. She stresses the importance of systematizing and operationalizing these principles through carefully designed rituals and systems that center human needs and talents. A key aspect of this approach involves understanding and leveraging each person’s “superpowers” or unique talents within an organization or community. The speaker recommends using Agile methodology to organize work and activities in alignment with people’s talents and the organization’s goals.

As a practical application of these ideas, Noir Labs offers services such as strategic storytelling and technology consulting to help organizations implement these principles, and an upcoming project called New World Haven. New World Haven is aimed at promoting these ideas and vision for the New World, and it is inviting interested parties to get involved in shaping this new reality.
