If you find that the season, or anything else for that matter, has you feeling bleh, you could benefit from a vibrational tune-up. This could mean deepened meditation, affirmations, movement and so many other things. Though I practice yoga daily, I’ve also been using dance lately. Which is how I ended up posting this TikTok. Ideally we would practice our vibrational tune-up in the rising of each new day, but doing so at any time we think to is also tremendously beneficial. More importantly, activating a high vibration within when we are negatively triggered is the kind of alchemy that rewires our brains and bodies for Liberation from Within. Here’s a free list of Ten Affirmations to Raise Your Vibration.

I so much loved this post by Iyinoluwa Aboyeji explaining his choice to be a Faith-based Entrepreneur. It resonated deeply, as I recognize more and more the spiritual nature of the work of NOIR Labs. Liberation from Within (LFW), our framework for getting every Black person to a place of mind, body, spirit alignment–with your highest purpose—is ultimately a spiritual process. The framework comes from a deep knowing that collective inner transformation can do what no armed struggle and no marches can do: cultivate a people who are impossible to oppress.

We’ll be teaching more on LFW here soon. Meanwhile, I started hosting my first Mindful Movement and Meditation (MMM) program this last week with My Reflection Matters Village a powerful space for unschooling BIPOC and ally families. I’ll be continuing these 7AM sessions everyday this week for free, as they’re helping me prepare for my Yoga certification. Here’s a video about how this connects to our larger work. You can join us by RSVPing here.

In Other News / Feast Your Spirit 😉

I recently penned this piece about what Black people should watch, Kanye is doubling down and Kyrie’s saga has inspired an outpouring of content from folks who have been researching Black origins. In this thread condemning the film that got Kyrie suspended, a video was shared about Horace Butler, who says he spent 12 years studying ancient literature of Africa and the Americas, placing Black civilizations in the Americas as early as 22,000 BC.

Also, the African Diaspora Awards, founded by the community that helped nurture Yvonne Orji and Blitz the Ambassador before they were stars, is having their 10th Anniversary edition this Saturday. You can read what I wrote about their history, and find tickets here.
