So this is one of those times when I wish I had my Indigenous Language. I wish I could pour out all my feelings into images and music and scriptural language embedded in ancient caves and typed out on silver keyboards. A language in which I could code and resist-dye canvas linen and weave kiko crowns in frankincense herb rinses.

Because I want to talk about OF THE CLOTH.

I will start with my language. My Divine language. It allows me to convey my energy with intention. It allows me to express my Highest Self and to influence the atmosphere around me in matter.

My language is vibration.

Now when sound comes out from this vibration, it sounds like an open, welcoming throat, a soft, early dusk. And then the words that are formed in that process are guttural. Mixing a synthesis of high and round notes, feeling like your arms floating up freely. So then communication is exact and medicinal. It is clear in soul energy what I seek to express at any given time, and you don’t have to guess what I’m thinking because you’re feeling it.

So that being said. Let us imagine OF THE CLOTH is a 79° sunny day in a quinoa field with the breeze blowing just ever so softly in waves that abate, resting, coming back into your skin. Imagine that you feel at expanded ease. There is nothing to worry about, there is nowhere to go. This bright illuminating field belongs to you and you can always enjoy it.

That’s what it feels like for me to observe the pieces of Tione Trice’s collection for OF THE CLOTH. To regard a piece of his high linen, ocean-salt sea-shell ceramics, creamy indigo wovens is literally to walk through that light field stroking the heads of grain plants up to your midriff.

We can not yet speak of the frequency through which he acquires his original artifacts, that is a subject for another essay. The most essential thing I had to say in this artifact-scroll, is that when you are looking for art that is a pure message of Divine love and grace, you will go to OF THE CLOTH.

And this is the beginning of a longer conversation. Let us continue to explore this notion of art that is felt at vibration level and that shifts consciousness into an elevation algorithm.

Much love,

Olori
